I asked my HR for such a letter (employed in TX), but they keep asking why I need the letter. Do I have to tell them? Isn’t it my right to obtain such a letter (right to inspect and verify own’s employment records) as an employee anytime I want? Further more, I am an employee of a TX state institution and they publish my name, employer, position, start date, annual salary and race anyway. Any fed or state laws for this?
